OBJECTIVE
The project was developed as a capstone research study to address the lack of efficient and centralized systems for pet healthcare management and adoption in the Philippines. It aimed to combine research-driven insights with modern UI/UX practices to create a functional, user-friendly, and responsive design solution for veterinary clinics and shelters.
CHALLENGE
Implementing all the design and feature recommendations from research panelists during revisions.
Designing visual materials (poster, brochure, and calling card) under strict mechanics and guidelines for the Research Exhibit, at the university.
Ensuring the UI design aligned with both web and mobile usability standards while keeping the interface consistent and accessible.
APPROACH/ SOLUTION
The project began with a research and data-gathering phase, where user pain points were identified through surveys and stakeholder interviews. From there, I created wireframes and user flows to visualize the core features, followed by detailed UI mockups focusing on accessibility and responsiveness for both mobile and desktop. Visual materials for the exhibit were designed in Canva, following Innovex 2025 guidelines, to ensure cohesive branding. Throughout the process, our team conducted continuous feedback loops and usability testing to refine layouts and ensure the design effectively supported veterinary and shelter operations.
RESULTS/ OUTCOME
The InnoPetCare system successfully met all project objectives, with testing conducted at Fort Deo Animal Clinic and Shelter of Hope Bacoor confirming its usability and effectiveness. InnoPetCare was also made available on Google Play, showcasing its readiness for real-world adoption and adherence to platform standards.
Personally, this project helped me strengthen my skills in UI/UX design, research-based product development, and visual communication, while proving that thoughtful design and technology can improve animal welfare and operational efficiency.
